HoneyTrap Work

Set in Brixton , the film is about Layla , a 15 year old teen who gets sucked into gang life and is sent out to set up a boy who has fallen in love with her to be killed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na30ze8aU4ATaking the real life story about the young man who faced this same tragic fate , this film explores the criminal side of Brixton , and the criminal side of this young teenage girls mind. This film is a low budget independent film , meaning it won't take the same precautions Guardians of The Galaxy did to be promoted or distributed , simply because they cannot afford it.This isn't the first film to have targeted this soft topic
A film was made many years ago , highlighting the dreaded Honey Trap Incident known as My Murder. My murder was the exact same story , a girl using love to lead a boy to death. However with Honey Trap , a change of character names and location - to the heavily gang influenced Brixton - gives a different perspective. But unlike guardians of the galaxy this film didn't have the means or finances to have a huge impact on the film industry. The film was first shown in The Ritzy in Brixon for the British Film Festival.  Who was involved? In terms of star power the cast of this film are not world renowned superstars. However they are well known enough in London to make this film watchable for their target audience of teenagers. These actors include Jessica Sula (Skins) , Lucian Laviscount (Waterloo Road , Coronation Street , Big Brother) , Ntonga Mwanza (Leave to remain) and Naomi Ryan (Doctor Who). While they are no the most decorated actors and actresses , these are decently well known for their work in London aimed at teenagers. The director and producer Rebecca has also been involved in the writing of other shows and short films such as Top Girl , Electric and that sinking feeling.

Guardians of the Galaxy Homework

Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy is sending shock waves through the film industry right now. Directed by James Gunn and produced by Kevin Fiege , the film wasn't expected to do as well as The Avengers , due to the hero not being as famous or even as popular. However not only did the film gain more love from marvel fan boys and the general public , it made history. It is officially the 3rd highest rated superhero film of all time with avengers settling for 6th place. With a rating of 8.5/10 it is only surpassed by back to back Batman films , The Dark knight rises with 8.6/10 and The Dark Knight with 9/10. However there is a question? What made these less known Marvel Vigilantes so popular to those who know them and those who have never even heard of them.
The Cast
To say that they had an all start cast to play these
characters would be an insult to the film. These huge box office sensations were merely the starting point of the films ridiculous success.  The main cast Includes

  • Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord. A young man that was abducted from Missouri and raised by alien thieves and bandits. He is also the leader of the Guardians.
  • Zoe Saldana as Gamora an Alien criminal who is an orphan and seeks redemption for her past crimes.
  • Dave Bautista as Drax the destroyer m a warrior who is in search of vengeance against the Ronan for killing his family.
  • Vin Diesel as Groot a tree like humanoid that accompanies Rocket.
  • Bradley Cooper as Rocket a genetically engineered raccoon who is a bounty hunter and mercenary , a master of battle tactics and weapons.

This all star cast is made up some of the most known people in Hollywood. Chris Pratt is well known for films such as The Lego Movie and Her , Zoe Saldana was in Avatar and action film Columbiana. Dave Bautista hasn't been in the film industry that long but he has spent time in front of the camera performing as he is a former legendary WWE wrestler known as Batista. Vin Diesel is well known for being Dominic Toretto in the Fast and Furious franchise and Bradley Cooper has starred in films such as The Hangover Trilogy. These stars all had a heavy part to ply in this film , their star power making it much easier to market and distribute the film than if some new actors where used. Marketing include posters , wallpapers , billboards and trailers. This is done to tease the films release but not give away the entire thing. It includes the characters , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crIaEzXgqto
Money
The budget for the film was 170 million pounds. For a Hollywood blockbuster this isn't that much money in their eyes. Especially when compared to how much they made over all , an enormous 732.6 million dollars , with 94.3 million of that from weekend box office. This is an example of the power of Hollywood filming and Hollywood film stars. This money would have never come about independent actors or independent movies. The worldwide release of this film surely helped it. It was marketed over all countries and two trailers were posted on youtube , one gaining 1 million views and another gaining 3 million view. This also means the marketing and distribution of were successful. We can tell this because of how much money was made. If they hadn't marketed it well enough no one would know about it to go and see it. If they had poor distribution methods no one would have gone and seen it. This is another example of how all aspect of the film industry act together to create on final product.

Technical Aspect
Outside of the Actors reading the scripts and the Directors telling everyone what to do , the technical aspect of film making is probably the most important. How is it the explosions and alien spaceships and planets look so real. Because they certainly didn't travel to out of space or blow up buildings. No the technology used is advanced beyond the years of film making before it. It is amazing to see how much film as improved and become one of the most visually amazing and awe inspiring forms of art ever. Equipment such as a JIB -  crane like machinery which follows around the actors at a high angle. So whenever you see the top of someones head its because of that , hovering above. Other technical aspects include special effects. The special effects you see on TV shows don't match those in films. Certainly when its a Marvel Film , you are bound to see a lot of things go Boom. There are a lost of aspects in Special Effects and it takes a lot of time and preparation. This is added in post production. This is an example of why production is important. If you haven't got an idea of how you are going to carry out the process you won't go anywhere. With a film like Guardians of the galaxy you want it to be as close to the comics as possible other wise there will be anarchy among comic book lovers. Post production includes hours of watching clips , trimming them and adding all the Special Effects. See if all this parts aren't melded together and if all the parts don't communicate with each other about any changes or additions it wont work. The film won't make it to the distribution and marketing stages and given the time the film takes to make it would be a shame for it not to do as as well as predicted based on some slight flaws. This shows how important production is to the film industry.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team-the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits-Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand-with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

James Gunn
First coming aboard the project back in August of 2012, James Gunn is the big brain behind everything you see in Guardians of the Galaxy, serving as both the screenwriter and the director. The film is easily the biggest directorial effort of his career, as he is best known for his work with the low-budget moviemakers of Troma Entertainment and for making titles like Super, starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page. It’s also worth noting that he has been friends with The Avengers director Joss Whedon for years, and that the character Gunn on the series Angel was actually named after him.
